Frobbing a timed potion starts a timer for either 8.6 seconds or the time in Script\Timing. An invisible clone of the object is created for applying the effect of the potion. For each frob the message StartPotion is sent to the clone. When the timer from the last frob expires, the clone is destroyed and a schema is played.
